It’s 1812 and the farmers of the Talbot Settlement are being recruited to fight for the British against the Americans. Visitors to the Backus-Page House Museum can “take the King’s Shilling”, their oath of allegiance plus participate as new recruits in military drills at... scheduled times throughout the weekend as we RALLY THE MILITIA at Relive the Talbot Settlement on May 26 and 27 (10am-4pm). PLUS see the skills needed to be an early settler; hear the music; learn the dances; and visit historic merchants. Sponsored in part by the Building Communities Through Art and Heritage Program. Sat/Sun Admission Adults $6, Age 4-14 $3, under 4 is free. Family rate $15 (2 adult and 2 kids).
